4000 : Exporting a procedure from ProEdit in 4000 Series Format

Modified on Tue, 2 Mar, 2021 at 3:44 PM

Procedures can be uploaded to the 4000 Series via a USB stick from the front panel USB port.

To ease writing procedures, ProEdit is used to write procedures on a Windows Desktop prior to importing to the 4000 Series.

To write procedures you must have at least ProEdit V5.29.

To export a procedure from ProEdit in a format compatible with the 4000 Series, first, write a procedure in ProEdit as normal. After you have written and tested your procedure, follow the steps below.

  1. From the main Menu of ProEdit, navigate to File, followed by 'Edit an Existing Procedure'.

  2. Search for the procedure that you wish to export and select from the list, in this case, a procedure for a Fluke 187.

  3. With the procedure highlighted, press the '_' key on your keyboard (Shift + -). A menu will appear asking if you wish to convert to a 4000 procedure datafile. Click YES.

  4. A second message will appear, click YES to export METER (i.e. SOURCE) tests.

  5. A final message will appear explaining the location that the procedure has been exported to (normally C:\ProCal\Programs).

  6. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder and select the new file that has been created, with a file extension of .4000Proc and copy to the root of an external memory stick (do not place within any folders on the memory stick).

  7. Follow the steps in the following support article to import the procedure into the 4000 Series : Importing Procedures from USB Device Port.
