Please follow the steps below to set up your calibration equipment as traceable instruments within ProSet for use in ProCal:
- Access the traceable instrument editing form by selecting File > Edit Instrument Traceability from the main menu:
- Select the instrument that you wish to add/configure. For this example, we will configure the 'Calibrator (Meter)':
- Select the desired instrument from the drop down menu to enable ProCal to use automatic drivers for your instrument. If your instrument does not exist in the list, please enter the name manually. ProCal will not be able to drive instruments that do not appear in the drop down list:
- Enter the instrument's information into the remaining fields:
- Serial number - enter the serial number of the instrument
- Certificate number - enter the latest calibration certificate number of the instrument
- Calibration date - enter the latest date of calibration of the instrument (this will be used by ProCal to check that your traceable instrument is valid)
- Calibration interval - enter the interval in months between required calibrations of the instrument (this will be used by ProCal to check that your traceable instrument is valid)
- GPIB Address - If the instrument is connected via GPIB (Not recommended unless no other interface is available) and the address has been changed then select the appropriate address from the drop down list.
- Static FTDI USB Address - enter the USB FTDI address of the instrument
- Uncertainty Template - select a custom uncertainty template for the instrument if one exists
- Your instrument is now available for use by ProCal
- For additional instruments that will not be the primarily used instrument (eg, a second multimeter for confirmatory readings), please use the additional custom lines (lines 11 onwards)
- To access these, use the 'add traceable instrument' button:
