Adjusting the High Voltage Current Limit

The Transmille 1000, 3000A, 4000 and 9000 Series calibrators are fitted with a safety feature to prevent the possibility of harm when outputting high voltage.

A dedicated circuit is monitoring the current flowing from the high voltage section and will immediately disconnect the output if this threshold is exceeded. 

This limit is set to approximately 20mA by Transmille during initial manufacturing, and if desired can be decreased or increased by the customer.

Warning - Adjusting these limits can potentially cause injury or death if used incorrectly. Transmille is not liable for any damage to instruments if these instructions are followed.

These adjustments DO NOT affect the calibration of the instrument, but if turning the limit DOWN can cause the unit to trip when driving typical workload and may need to be adjusted again.

Instructions for 3000A, 4000 and 9000A Series Calibrators

1. Remove outer case of unit. Only the top lid needs to be removed for the 3000A and 4000 Series. The 9000 Series requires further disassembly.
2. Hinge the rear panel out so that the High Voltage Current limit is adjustable. In newer units there are TWO adjustments, one for DC Voltage and one for AC Voltage. In older units there is a single adjustment.
   
   

Instructions for 1000 Series Calibrators

1. Remove calibrator from the case and place on the bench.
2. Locate the High Voltage adjustment potentiometer as indicated in the image below and adjust to the desired level.
