ProCal-Track can be set to link to the same database as ProCal in order to share instrument and calibration information
easily across the system.
If you are using ProCal on a local 'C' drive, no changes to ProCal-Track path setting are required as these will be
automatically set up during installaion. For network installations where ProCal is pointing across a network for its data, ProCal-Track will also need to be set to point to this same location.
To link ProCal-Track to the same database as an existing ProCal installation follow the steps below :
Note : Before starting this process you will need to know the location ProCal is set to point to for its data which could be via a
mapped drive (eg. the S drive), or a UNC path such as \\server\c\procal\certificate.
1. Run ProCal-Track and select UTILITIES > ADVANCED > PROGRAM OPTIONS...
2. Set the CERTIFICATE DATABASE path to the same settings as ProCal
3. Set the CONTACTS DATABASE path to the same as settings ProCal
4. Optional settings are also available :
DIGITAL PHOTOS :
Configure a folder of your choice to store digital photos of instruments which is used by ProCal-Track to show on screen and print on documents such as service logs.
SALES DATABASE (ProSales Users Only) :
Configure the sales database path - required only if you are using the optional ProSales Sales Management Software
to set the location of the sales database as set in ProSales.
STOCK DATABASE (ProSales Users Only) :
Configure the stock database path - required only if you are using the optional ProSales Sales Management Software)
to set the location of the stock database as set in ProSales.
PDF Scans :
Configure a folder of your choice to store PDF scans which is used by ProCal and ProCal-Track to store and provide access to
documents such as thrid party certificates, customer orders and other paperwork stored in a 'digital filing cabinet' within the
Transmille software system.
Note : The PDF scans function requires a PDF scanner to be available on the system (eg. Fuji ScanSnap)
Click OK to save - if any paths entered are not located ProCal-Track will warn and ask for a valid path.
Once paths are updated it is recommended to exit the software and re-start to allow path changes to take effect.
