To allow testing of RCD/GFI and Loop Testers within buildings with protected supplies the Transmille 3200B comes wired with Earth and Neutral tied together internally.
This allows fault currents to pass down the NEUTRAL line, bypassing RCD/GFI protection devices.
In some cases users may wish to reverse this wiring (for example for use on unprotected supplies).
to perform this modification, first remove the top case of the unit. To do this remove the TWO hexagonal screws in the side of the front panel, and then the 6 screws along each side of the top case.
The Top Case will then slide towards the rear of the unit and can be taken off.
Then remove the two screws on the rear of the unit as highlighted in the picture below :
Then proceed to remove the screws in the sides of the back panel assembly so that the back panel can be removed.
With the back panel hinged towards you, locate the crimp with a BLUE and GREEN/YELLOW wire connected together, highlighted with the RED Circle.
Cut the crimp off, leaving as much wire remaining as possible.
Re crimp the Blue Wire with a suitable connector and replace the connection to the switch.
Place a ring crimp of suitable size on the GREEN/YELLOW wire and attach to the bolt on the back panel.
A picture below shows the position the wires should be modified to with the BLUE circle showing the BLUE (Neutral) wire, and the GREEN circle showing the GREEN/YELLOW (earth) Wire.
